Intel announced a key partnership today, allowing chip makers to build low-power SoC on its 18A process. The collaboration will focus on design for mobile chipsets with Arm-based CPU cores and then will eventually move on to automotive, IoT, data center and aerospace and government applications. Arm customers, designing their chipsets around Cortex CPU cores, will be able to use Intel’s “breakthrough transistor technologies for improved power and performance”, said a press release issued by both parties.
